MapOptix Successfully Implemented at Argonne National Laboratories

Chicago, Illinois  -  Argonne National Laboratories, one of the United States Department of Energy's oldest and largest national laboratories for science and engineering research, with the assistance of GeoNorth, has recently and successfully implemented GeoNorth's stand alone web-based mapping solution, MapOptix.

Argonne National Laboratories operates a 1,500 acre 100-building complex approximately 25 miles southwest of Chicago.  The client needed an easy-to-use and maintain, viable, web-based mapping solution to accomodate both the campus, as well as all geographical, structural, and asset attributes.  MapOptix provided the client with a highly functional and scalable mapping solution that offers enhanced administrative capabilities, database integration, GIS functionality, map display and image options, geocoding and geoprocessing, content management, and advanced database query, navigation, and analytical capabilities.  For Argonne National Laboratories, MapOptix enabled them to quickly integrate their information, helped lower operating costs, and met multiple business needs.

Argonne National Laboratories centers around the 3 principal areas of:  1) Energy,  2) Biological and Environmental Systems,  and  3) National Security, with 5 major mission areas of:

-  Conducting basic scientific research

-  Operating national scientific laboratories

-  Enhancing the nation's energy resources

-  Developing better ways to manage environmental problems

and

-  National Security
