The Municipality of Anchroage GIS department has a good photomosaic basemap of Anchorage and many other GIS layers that can be useful. The current Gooogle Map satellite image came directly from the Municipality (from 2006 orthos) and is reasonably accurate. The Muni also has more recent photos, but you need to ask their GIS department for them. We have also worked with their GIS department many times in the past and are very familiar with their data, so if you are looking for something special, we might be able to help you track it down.
